Ethel P. Hille

The funeral for Ethel P. Hille, Kulm, ND will be held Friday, June 29, 2012 at 1:30 PM at Zion Lutheran Church in Kulm, ND. Visitation will be from 12:00 noon until the time of the service at the church. Burial will be at the Kulm Congregational Cemetery, Kulm, ND.

Ethel Ogren daughter of John and Tilda (Malm) Ogren was born December 23, 1911 at Kulm, ND. Ethel married Helmuth Hille on July 5, 1936. She was a 1928 graduate of Edgeley High School. Ethel operated a beauty shop in Kulm for one year after their marriage when they moved to Fargo. She then worked in the beauty shop at Herbst’s Department Store. In 1942 they returned to Kulm and began farming at the Hille farm south of Kulm where they farmed until 1980. Ethel opened a beauty shop in Kulm in 1968 which she operated until 1988. Ethel moved to The Manor in Edgeley in March of 2006 and in October, 2009, she moved to the St. Rose Care Center in LaMoure. While living in Kulm she enjoyed her flowers and having coffee with friends. She was a longtime member of the local Weight Watchers club and enjoyed their meetings at the café and often joked that it didn’t seem to do much good! Family was always important to her and kept close track of her siblings, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Ethel Hille died on Sunday, June 24, 2012, at the Oakes Community Hospital. She was 100 years old.

Ethel is survived by her children, Susan Forsman of Jud, ND; and son Llewellyn (Marian) of Buffalo, MN; seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren; one sister Harriet Bloomquist, LaMoure, ND. Ethel was preceded in death by her parents, husband Helmuth, son-in-law Ed Forsman, grandson Jason Forsman, baby Wendy Forsman and her Ogren siblings.
